About
Kwik Meal NYC is a standout food cart nestled at 100 W 45th St in the heart of New York City. It offers a fresh, flavorful alternative to the traditional halal stands that dot the area, distinguishing itself with generous portions, authentic spices, and a personal touch that resonates with both locals and visitors. The heart of the experience lies in their lamb over rice and biryani dishes, boasting real, well-seasoned meats that stay true to their cultural roots, accompanied by fluffy, perfectly cooked rice and that signature cooling yogurt sauce.
What truly elevates Kwik Meal NYC is not just the quality of the food but the warmth in service. The friendly vendor, often engaging with patrons about their preferred sauce spiciness or portion size, makes ordering feel less transactional and more welcoming. This personalized approach enhances the quick, fulfilling meal experience, which is essential for New Yorkers on the move.
The menu smartly balances classic Middle Eastern and South Asian flavors, offering chicken and lamb combos, falafel wraps, and hearty biryani platters. Each item arrives freshly prepared, with crispy yet soft pitas, vibrant and tangy sauces, and bold spices that promise a depth of flavor rare among fast-casual options in the city.
While the packaging sometimes struggles with heat retention and structural integrity, it does little to detract from the overall experience. The hearty portions make it more than a meal—they become a satisfying solution for hungry commuters, late-night travelers, and anyone craving a quick yet authentic taste of home-style comfort food. Kwik Meal NYC is a genuine gem that blends convenience, flavor, and friendliness, making it a must-visit for fans of rich, aromatic street fare.
“ Great alternative to Adel’s and definitely better than the Halal Guys. Both the guys in front of me and behind seem to be regulars so I guess the food here is quite popular. Order the lamb over rice and the portions are generously. The guy preparing the food is always friendly and happy and checks with you on how much sauce you want and if you like it spicy. Would definitely be back again. ”
“ Do not hesitate to eat here. Everyone loved it. I really recommend adding the spicy sauce to your lamb/falafel sandwich. Get extra napkins. ”
“ Good tasty cheap eats! Fulfilling and quick. Everything was freshly made and well prepared! The guy that served us was so friendly and accommodating...which is quite rare in NYC. We ordered the chicken and lamb combo over rice and the chicken pita wrap. Crispy, soft pita bread with everything lusciously doused in a refreshing yogurt dressing. ”
“ I'm not one to be picky about takeout containers but this one's structural integrity left a lot to be desired. The clamshell halves were barely hanging on and there were many threatening cracks before I even made it to Bryant Park. The vessel aside, Kwik Meal makes a very solid chicken over rice for $10. It was appropriately drowning in white sauce and was enough for at least two meals. ”
“ I just landed at LGA at 11:30 PM and by the time I checked into my hotel near Times Square at midnight, I was freezing and starving. Everything was closed, and I felt hopeless until I found this food cart on DoorDash. (I was so surprised and relieved to find local food cart biz on DoorDash because I assumed they were "cash only.") I ordered the Lamb Biryani and a Chicken & Lamb combo platter. Walking there in the biting NYC wind was tough, but seeing the owner working hard in his small booth at 12:30 AM was truly humbling. He was so kind and told me he works the night shift until 5 AM. The portions were HUGE—maybe because it was late, or maybe he’s just that generous. The food was steaming hot, flavorful, and exactly what I needed to survive the night. To the hardworking brother running the cart: thank you for the warmth and the amazing meal. You made my first night in NYC unforgettable. Highly recommend! ”
